Andre Van Kets is the founder of Africa Travel Guide.org.

With a background in IT/technology and a passion for travel, Andre has worked in the online travel industry in South Africa since 2002.

He has developed a number of Africa travel websites including Drive South Africa, OverlandingAfrica.com, African Impact amongst others.

Andre is a patron of the Tourism Community Development Trust, a non-profit charity organisation that aims to uplift under-privileged communities in Cape Town by raising funds through tourism initiatives.

What inspires Andre?

Andre's personal goal is to make a sustainable and measurable difference to Africa and it's people, by marketing Africa as a top travel destination to people around the globe through the use of the Internet and emerging technologies.

Andre believes that his latest project Africa Travel Guide will help achieve this goal by creating an open channel where prospective travellers to Africa can obtain latest news, useful information and great advice from leaders in the travel industry in Africa.

In his spare time

Andre likes to run (his first marathon was the Cape Town Marathon 2006), swim, surf, snowboard, lifesaving, travel in Africa and abroad, snapshot photography, read, listen to music and spend time with family and friends.

If you were one of Africa's interesting animals...

If I had to choose, I'd probably be a dolphin. I could spend as much time as I like down at the beach and in the water. I'd just have to keep an eye out for those pesky Great Whites!
