Carla dos Santos - Profile
Carla dos Santos is the Product Manager of Drive South Africa Travel. She has worked in the Africa Travel Industry since 1998.
Born in Cape Town, with a huge travel bug in her pretty much from birth, Carla started travelling close to home, and fell in love with South Africa. When she realised the extent of the African continent there was no stopping her, and she started travelling north. Amazed by landscape, wilderness and jungle, Carla has travelled most of Africa, and keeps going back for more!
Carla has worked in Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Zambia on her quest to be the authority on Africa Travel. Carla is very passionate about Africa and her job, which entails Product Development and Content Writing, but her favourite part is assisting tourists in experiencing Africa in the way that she has – with passion.
Carla has travelled extensively overseas, and still believes there is no place like home!
Inspiration:
Carla is inspired by the ever-changing industry that is Africa Travel. Not only is Africa an ever changing continent but the countries are still developing and beautiful new areas that could not be visited before are evolving into sustainable destinations.
South Africa is also very much on the map as a first class tourist destination, and living in Cape Town (which she swears is the most beautiful city in the world) proves this with tourism on the increase every year.
In her spare time:
Carla loves to travel, read and has a deep love of PlayStation. Carla enjoys time alone which she uses for walking and hiking into forests and deserts.
If I was one of Africa’s interesting animals:
Hands down it would be the Honey Badger –this small, solitary, tenacious and secretive creature shows absolutely no fear, and will take out anything that stands between it and its destination. Pound for pound this is the most powerful creature in Africa -
Carla’s Dream:
To have a huge farm house in the desert of Northern Namibia, and spend her days writing the Ultimate Africa Travel Guide!
Motto in life:
1) This too shall pass
2) Never test the water with both feet
