The ultimate nature experience is bush camping at Spitzkoppe in Namibia. To enjoy the beautiful nature, watch the sunset and see the sky lit from all the stars.

And so after a couple of days in Swakopmund we were all glad to leave the civilized world and head back to nature for some camping and experience nature.

After a relative short drive we arrived at the Spitzkoppe mountains, at a very remote campsite. Everyone helped to setup camp in the bush, the woman started cooking and the men looked for firewood on Spitzkoppe. Very traditional of course.

But you really appreciate the beauty and quite peace at this remote location. Very relaxing as you sit on the Spitzkoppe and watch the sun go down over Namibia. A great bushcamping experience.

The bush campsite at Spitzkoppe is easily accessible and open for all, so if you are looking to go camping yourself it is no problem.

The next day we watched some bushman paintings in the area, and left for a nearby seal colony at the skeleton coast. To arrive at a cheetah farm at the end of the day, another exciting on our Windhoek to Vic Falls overland trip!

Camping doesn’t need to be pre booked at Spitzkoppe. You can pay the camping fee at the gate to the park upon arrival. A staff member will point out which sites are still available - they can not be reserved in advance. Cost at the gate is N$45pp plus N$10 per vehicle or N$5 for a motorbike. Take lots of film - its stunning!!
