A few weeks ago I did a really nice trip in Namibia, we went River rafting on the Orange River.
We didn’t have so much time so we decided to drive our self’s to Namibia.
Here are some great tips if you are planning to drive to Namibia:
• Don’t drive after 10 pm
• The roads have bad lights
• Always keep your doors locked
• Make sure you have enough petrol
• Take a cell phone with you with full battery and enough airtime
• Check if you have a spear tire
• Remember that it is a 7 hour drive
• Get a strong, reliable and comfortable car
If you are planning to drive late in the evening you can take a nice stop at Clanwilliam, this is a very nice and safe town. It is only a 4 hour drive from Cape Town and the next morning you only have 3 hours drive left to Namibia,
The N7 is a very nice road to travel on but remember that you are in South-Africa and take notice of the tips.
We rented a car with www.drivesouthafrica.co.za and they were very helpful and gave us those handy tips!
