The last day of our overland trip through Southern Africa, we spent at the touristic highlight of the region visiting the famous Victoria Falls.
You know beforehand what you are about the see, as you have seen the pictures a thousand times. But still you will be amazed at the sight of this massive waterfall, thundering down before you.
You have to pay a small fee to visit the Victoria Falls National Park from the Zimbabwean side, but it is more than worth it. There are several great vantage points from where you can take pictures and just watch the water fall down.
If you want to watch the Victoria Falls from the other side, you will have to cross the border with Zambia. From there you can continue walking opposite the Falls, and even get real close to the actual Falls. If you have more than one day at Victoria Falls, be sure to visit the Zambian side as well, as it is definetly worth it.
Another great option to view the Victoria Falls is to take a helicopter flight. A round flight of about half an hour takes you over the falls, where you can view the entire area. Before it slides down and gets to about 100 meters of the actual Victoria Falls.
And so our journey ended at the touristic highlight which are the Victoria Falls. They promise that it will take your breath away for a second, which it more than did for me. It was a great way to end our journey of Southern Africa.
