After a nice drive from Windhoek to the coast, I arrived in Swakopmund. Ready for days full of adventure activities in the Namibian sand!

Finding our way to the hostel, me and another Overlander who was one the same trip, met our group eating lunch. All sun tanned from the desert, everyone was excited about meeting us and i knew that I was going to have a good time.

Some information on Swakopmund

Founded in 1892 during the German colonial rule, the distinct colonial character has
been well preserved.  Swakopmund has several excellent restaurants, bars,
coffee shops as well as many arts and crafts shops selling Namibian rural art.
There are fine beaches to walk along as well as a great museum, aquarium and
galleries to visit.

From lunch we went to the bar, also the best one in Swakopmund at the. For some beer and to get a briefing on all the adventure activities that are offered in Swakopmund. They bring a video to pump you up… but really that is not necessary!

We all booked in for several activities and were getting ready for the next days of adventure. The night was of course spend in the excellent hostel bar, a great place to meet other Overlanders and indulge in the African shots drinking.
