Google has added a new terrain feature to the interactive Google
maps online. Now you can see Cape Town with Table Mountain included in the detailed Google geographic map view.
Now the terrain map view feature is an option, instead of
the hybrid view on the Google maps. The terrain view allows you to see detailed
geographical features for your selected location. Previously the hybrid map view
combined satellite view with the street map view providing some perspective,
but terrain view focuses on the lay of the land and natural features. Take a look at the terrain map view of the South Africa map to get a good overview of the country’s geography.
Here is the terrain view map of Cape Town, South Africa. In
terrain view you can see the topographical features and street outlines in the Cape Town area.
