Everyone going on safari in Southern Africa beware and bring your hood caps! The rainy season has started in Southern Africa, reports a safari expert from Botswana.

We received this exclusive report from a local expert on safaris in Botswana, David Young. He reported that the rainy season has now finally kicked in.

"Rain is starting to make mobile safaris in and around Moremi Game Reserve a little tricky. A local guide was stuck twice coming down from Savuti to Mababe - enroute to Maun."

One of our own experts Steve from Drive South Africa confirmed that the rainy season in Southern Africa traditionally starts around this time of year and ends in February. The start and end of the rainy season can vary, so this kind of information is very valuable for anyone traveling in the area.
