1. Take your car in for a service regularly - keep your car in good condition, it saves fuel.
2. Pack wisely and avoid using roof racks - taking more stuff means you use more petrol.
3. Buy petrol mid-week - fuel prices go up over the weekends and dip by Wednesdays (USA).
4. Fill up wisely - avoid buying fuel on exit ramps for highways they usually have the highest petrol prices.
5. Know which way to wind your windows - in town, open your windows: the air conditioner is not a fuel efficient way to keep cool. On the highway, roll up those windows: at high speeds open windows create air drag which guzzles fuel.
