History of the name Africa

The name Africa was in the antiquity (ancient times) first reserve to the area of the now days called Tunisia. Many times later the whole coast line was called Africa and in the days of the voyage of discovery they were talking about the whole continent.

Africa’s largest country is Sudan, and its smallest country is the Seychelles, an archipelago off the east coast. The smallest nation on the continental mainland is The Gambia.
